About Me

Words Phoenix lives by in the form of a manifesto

Before anything, I am a woman. One who has survived many traumas and conquered countless mountains. After all, there is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise. Everything I am and all that I have, I put in the effort to attain. I am also a mom who doesn't believe that working makes me a bad mother or that I'll be a bad employee because of that role. Life is a balancing act and I am therefore committed to the pursuit of harmony in my work as well as my life.

I fell head over heels in love with the beauty of language and literature at the very tender age of six.  At seven, an interest sparked in poetry and performance, which quickly became a passion. The older I got, the more involved I became in the art of writing and speaking: poetry, debating, script writing, public speaking, short stories and editing.

After taking the more popular route in terms of career choice and quickly regretting it, I have finally returned to what I was born to do: write. That being said, I am open minded and ever optimistic. Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don't feel like I should be doing something else.

I love to add a dash (sometimes more) of creativity to any task that comes my way and pay excessive attention to detail. I adapt easily to new environments and thrive under pressure. I am always eager to expand my fund of knowledge and therefore, enjoy working in groups as this often creates the opportunity for learning, teaching and exploring. I am made up of brains, beauty and a brilliant resolve.

I classify myself as a creative copywriter with my best and favourite skill being conceptual writing. Due to my ability to pay attention to detail, I am also a great proofreader and my love for books and reading makes me a noteworthy editor. Writing to me is simply thinking through my fingers.

"And just as the Phoenix rose from the ashes, she too will rise. Returning from the flames, clothed in nothing but her strength, more beautiful than ever before." - Shannen Heartzs
